Model Answer 1:

A few years ago, my family and I went camping in the Scottish Isles. We chose to camp out on an island owned by an artist because of the many attractions there, like the coral reefs and the wildlife. Little did we realize that one of the most interesting attractions would be the artist’s home itself. To our delight, we discovered that the artist’s house was built on the top of four guava trees. The walls were made of bamboo and the roof was lined with coconut palms. Shrubs and flowers hung from the roof.

Under the house were a well, a vegetable garden and many fruit trees heavily laden with fruits. When we heard that we were invited to the house for dinner, we were thrilled. We had to climb a narrow ladder to reach the entrance where we were greeted by the artist himself. The house was lit by oil lamps which gave it a cozy look. The place was filled with indoor plants. The pictures and the artwork on the walls were painted or made by the artist himself. All the furniture was hand-made too.

His quaint little kitchen was lined with cabinets made of unpolished wood. He usually does his cooking in the open air where he builds a small campfire.

The artist used the house during the months of May and June every year, to get away from the noise and pollution of our modern world. Being on the island, he could really enjoy nature. Modern appliances were distinctly absent in his house. Only the rustle of leaves, the calls of wild animals and the splashing of waves on the beach could be heard.

It was the most interesting house I have ever visited. I wish I could own such an ideal house myself in the future.

Model Answer 1:

I currently live in our house which is a 2 storied building. But in the future, I would like to live in a farm house in my hometown. The house would be a small one with 4-5 rooms in it. But there would be plenty of trees, gardens, ponds and open spaces in from of the house. I want to live close to nature rather than living in a cramped metropolitan building. The house would be built with woods, leaves, some modern materials, and tin. There would be a big veranda in front of the house. Trees would be all around the house.

This would not be a very big house in terms of the size of the rooms. But definitely, the total farm house would be well over 1 acre. I would not require a very big house because I won’t have different types of furniture and show pieces. I will have only necessary household appliances and furniture.

This house would be located in our hometown which is (…say your hometown name…) in (…say the district/ division/ country name/ city name…). We already have a house there but I would convert it to a farm house in future when I will start living there.

Currently, I am living in a metropolitan city and leading a busy life. I do not wish to live in this crowded and busy city after my retirement. I have a plan to take early retirement and then build a farm house in my hometown that would allow me living in a place which offers fresh air, clean environment, polluted free living and healthy and fresh foods. This is the main reason I want to live there. Secondly, I already have a house there and converting it to a farmhouse would not be that difficult. Finally, I don’t want to live an idle life after my retirement and building a farmhouse and living there would allow me to get involved in many works that I won’t be able to do at my current living place.
